BRN Program Administrator – 60% FTE (TERM)

The Black Research Network (BRN) is looking for a BRN Program Administrator (60% FTE, Term) to join its team.

The BRN was launched as a University of Toronto Institutional Strategic Initiative to promote Black excellence at U of T and to enhance the research capacity of Black scholars within the university and on the world stage. 

The BRN Program Administrator will work under supervision of the Program Lead, BRN and under general direction of the Director BRN and the Department Manager, Historical Studies and will be responsible for being the first point of contact for the BRN, scheduling and booking meetings, coordinating logistics for events/workshops, maintaining digital platforms, arranging catering, maintaining confidential files, making travel arrangements and making minor purchases. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Developing and maintaining a network of external contacts to build awareness of initiatives
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms
  • Advising faculty on sourcing and pursuing research funding
  • Processing payroll

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 10 — $72,119. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $92,226. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.

NOTE: This is a part-time 60% FTE position. The pro-rated annual salary is $ 43,271.40  with an annual step progression to a maximum of $55,335.60
