Ayobami Laniyonu
Ayobami Laniyonu is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto. They are a quantitative and statistical researcher whose projects explore gentrification and policing; homelessness, mental illness, and policing; the relationship between policing and political behaviour; and applications of LLMs and generative AI to public safety and social justice. Ayobami’s recent projects focus on building alternative and community-based responders to 911 calls for service, conducting cost-benefit analyses of these responder models, and exploring the role of LLMs and generative AI in public safety and social justice.
