Event Overlay

On April 16, join the Collaborative Digital Research Space (CDRS) at U of T Mississauga for a talk with Dr. Aaron Trammell about his new book, Repairing Play: A Black Phenomenology

Trammell is an associate professor of Informatics and has affiliations with African American Studies and Media Studies at UC Irvine. One of the leading scholars in Black Game Studies, Repairing Play: A Black Phenomenology is his pathbreaking 2023 book about how Black lived experience should shape how we think about playfulness and how we might reinvent the relationships between players.

Trammell will discuss his work during the event’s morning session. The afternoon’s activities will feature a video game play-along in CDRS, where attendees will come to understand his approach to game design and game studies. Both events are open to the entire UTM community.
