Anti-Racist Pedagogies Learning Series – Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre

Event Overlay

The Anti-Racist Pedagogies Learning Series introduces instructors to the foundations of anti-racist pedagogy in higher education.

Designed for instructors who are new to this work or in the early stages of implementation, the series offers a supportive yet urgent space to reflect on how power, race, and systemic inequity shape undergraduate classrooms.

Session #1: What Is Anti-Racist Pedagogy? Naming, Reframing, and Reflecting

This foundational session establishes a shared understanding of anti-racist pedagogy as both a theoretical framework and practical approach to teaching in higher education. Participants will move beyond surface-level diversity initiatives to explore how anti-racist pedagogy actively challenges and dismantles systems of oppression within educational settings.
