Black Research Network Co-Sponsorships
The Black Research Network (BRN) at the University of Toronto invites requests for co-sponsorship of initiatives that align with its mission for the period of May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027.
Through co-sponsorship, the BRN helps build an interdisciplinary, cross-divisional community of scholars across the University of Toronto’s tri-campus, creating virtual and physical spaces for formal and informal engagement and expanding opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
The BRN brings together faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows and librarians, grounded in a shared commitment to learning from one another. The network prioritizes collaboration with academic units, student groups, and community partners to broaden perspectives and build meaningful relationships both within and beyond the university.
- Black-led undergraduate and graduate student groups, as well as BRN members (faculty, postdoctoral fellows, librarians, and students), at University of Toronto are encouraged to apply.
- Academic units and student groups at the University of Toronto may also request co-sponsorship, where the initiative aligns with the BRN’s mission. Priority will be given to initiatives led by Black-led student groups and BRN members.
- Co-sponsorships are considered within the fiscal year (May 1 – April 30), with one request permitted per group per year.
- Support is limited and subject to annual review; approval is not guaranteed.
If you meet the eligibility criteria and would like BRN to co-sponsor your initiative, please submit the application form to brn@utoronto.ca with Subject Heading “Co-Sponsorship Request”.
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, and successful applicants will be contacted by the BRN team.
