Assistant Professor – Philosophy of Science and/or Technology

The Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST) in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Philosophy of Science and/or Technology.

The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will specialize in general philosophy of science, or the philosophies of the natural sciences, health, data, or information. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Philosophy of Race, Philosophy of non-Western Science, Indigenous knowledges, and/or expertise in philosophical work at the intersection of race and science and/or technology. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
