Teaching Refresh: Building Student Engagement at the Start of Term

What kind of student participation are you hoping to see in your class this Fall?

There’s plenty of research showcasing the benefits of having students directly engage with the material and with each other in class, but how do we get students on board and excited to participate? In this session, The Centre for Teaching & Learning will explore student engagement strategies that can be incorporated into your classroom this fall term. Instructors will have an opportunity to share challenges and collaborate on strategies for grabbing student attention and normalizing class participation in the early weeks of the semester.
